Bartertown is a modern string band with ancient and eclectic roots. Each of the five players bring their own musical background to the mix. Bryan Lee is a classically trained violinist turned fiddler. Cordelia Richards plays the banjo primarily, but also lends her voice on occasion. Peter Keens plays the mandolin and the guitar. Autumn Robertson accompanies with the Hammered Dulcimer. And Jeff Schiffman brings it all together with the upright bass. The band started out playing traditionals but has evolved by playing original tunes inspired by gypsy jazz and D'jango, bluegrass and classical music.
Join us on Saturday November 21, 2009 for a night of bluegrass and more at the Blue Ridge Pickin' Parlor. Doors open at 7:30PM. Tickets: Advanced $15, Door $20, Kids $10 (6-11 yo).
Bartertown will be opening for their teacher's band This Just In with a 4-5 song set. We would love to have any and all come out and enjoy the music and atmosphere of this important bluegrass monument in Southern California.
